Blog Update: Cool Milestone, April review and a few other bits

So I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who has come by and spent some of their time on this blog. We recently passed 10K hits! I know that’s actually not a lot, some of you have blogs that get that many hits in a month. It’s a big deal for me. I am a one man show, I produce all the content on this blog and it’s just a great milestone, thank you.

April was a tough month for me personal and for the blog in terms of visits and views. It’s funny how when things in life permeate into all aspects of what you are doing. April was really the first month in a long time where I was just stuck in a serious anxiety rut. I was hiding in my “office” at home, exhausted from the winter (we had bad weather here all of April basically). Stressed about work, had medical issues it was just bad.

The content here reflected that and so did the visits and views. As this is my little corner of the blogosphere it’s all on me. I am hopeful that May will bring the renewal spirit that deep spring should. I still enjoy blogging and I am committed to “A Gen X Point of View”. Thank you for sticking by me and the blog. Your continued support and willingness to share my blog with others has really helped the site grow, I sincerely appreciate it.

A few other bits….

So it’s no secret that the content here varies, I am breaking a cardinal rule of online content creation. I am not honing in and focusing on a niche. I understand that, it’s part of the evolution of me as a content creator. There are a lot of things I would like to write about and while I am committed to continuing my work as a good resource for anxiety issues, I have and will continue to expand on the subjects I cover. I realize many people are here because they consume posts on anxiety, stress and depression. I am committed to writing about those subjects, I hope the other topics I cover will interest you as well.

This blog was never meant to be a commercial endeavor, meaning I am not, and don’t intend to sell you anything at any point. Sure I want lots of followers, yes I want more likes, you bet I want more interaction but those are hoped for outcomes here. In the end this blog is my outlet into the larger world, from my small rural New England town. I always hoped that people who read these pieces did so because they appreciated my perspective and “take” on the subject matter. I still hope that is the case going forward.

I am so thankful you are here, and thankful that you are on this journey with me. For now, the “A Gen X Point of View” blog will continue on much as it has for the first few months of 2021. It’s funny to say this now but 2020 was an easy year to blog, there was A LOT of material to talk about. There still is, but it’s less targeted in my view. Simply put, as a content creator I find it challenging to adhere to the “script” of successful blogging. Find a niche, become an expert. I am interested in so much more and while doing that would have propelled this blog to higher statistical counts in many areas it would have become another job.

I don’t know where the blog is going to land and thats a good thing for me as the creator. I know I want to talk more about men’s issues, finance, anxiety, weight loss. Where ever this journey takes me, thank you for sticking with me and this blog, I truly appreciate it.

A quick note about this blog

This isn’t a formal post today more of an informational piece about this blog. Recently I have received a few offers to have sponsored content. I vetted the sources and they seem legitimate and not phishing scams, as best I can tell anyway. I appreciated it, but made clear to those who inquired this isn’t a commercial blog. I am not doing this for financial gain, you don’t (and wont) see ads on this blog. There is no sponsored content etc. Product endorsements? If I like something I will talk about it but wont do paid endorsements.

Many people blog to make money or as a side hustle, that’s cool you do you. For me? This is just my corner of the blogosphere. I post what I want, how I want, when I want. Sponsored content won’t happen here, ads won’t happen (I won’t put them on anyway). This blog will always be free for anyone who wants to read it and interact with it, that includes all past content. The only way I would ever monetize this blog is having something like a patreon where if people wanted to support they could, all voluntary. That isn’t happening anytime soon either.

If you subscribe, like and comment on this blog I truly appreciate it. I hope this blog is a small piece of the web you can enjoy a few minutes out of your day free of commercials or etsy’s, or ads or “buy my hat” pitches… It’s “A Gen X Point of View” and you are welcome here, regardless of your age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, religion. No purchase required, no catches, no strings attached.

Your Pagan Friend,

Karac.

Thank you!

It’s snowing here, yes I am on the east coast, somewhere in the middle of New England U.S. Snow storms are cool, I love watching the snow accumulate on the trees. It appears as if we are going to have a white Christmas in my world which is very cool. As I look out the window and watch the snow fall I thought it would be a great opportunity to say thank you.

Yes, to you dear reader. Thank you for coming by and supporting my blog I really appreciate it. For many of us who blog it is an exercise that is cathartic for us. We need it to get things out of our system that we otherwise don’t have the ability to get out. Here you are, on the journey with me, in your own way.

I deeply appreciate you, this blog isn’t a commercial blog. There are no ads, I do not solicit money. I don’t do this for the money I do this because It helps me and low and behold other people want to read what I have to say. I’m happy you are here, I don’t care where you live, what race you are, what your religious beliefs are, what your sexuality is, or what your political affiliation is.

I’m just glad you’re here, thank you.

Your Pagan Friend,

An honest look at my Blog & looking ahead to 2021

So as a finance professional I have lived, and died (figuratively of course) on statistics. The statistics for this blog are encouraging yet there are notable issues that need to be addressed. All endeavors often have positives and negatives, so it’s not something I am overly worried about.

So I am coming to the end of my 2nd full year of blogging. This isn’t a commercial endeavor, you’ll notice there are no ads, there are no asks for money etc. Will there be? I don’t know, but what I can say is 2020 was a tremendous year for growth for the blog. Considering where I started and I have not done the full court press of growth (Instagram, Facebook, twitter) I mean some people grow their blog to commercialize it. I basically worked on organic growth hoping people found it based on the content not on the volume.

To mixed results to be blunt. As I write this I am sitting on total 225 followers. Again the aim of the blog isn’t to grow for growth sake, but I do have goals. One of my big targets was 500 followers by the end of the year, that isn’t going to happen unless there is a rush. I am okay with that but one of the main things that is happening is, month over month I increase in visits and views but “likes” have flat lined. This tells me that I am reaching people but they either don’t like what they are seeing, aren’t compelled to tell me they like it, aren’t reading the content, or found the content accidently.

Of course there are plenty of people who do like the content and participate regularly. I want to be clear I am not complaining I am just trying to understand statistics and make a good judgement, as the title says. I have started contributing to other blogs that will eventually drive traffic to this blog. I have worked on SEO as well, that is a long term project. I think in 2021 I will need to branch out on subject matter and cover some more current events. I will always do Anxiety pieces here, it’s the reason I started the blog and it’s my way to put out positives on the subject.

That said I do want to grow, I think that is a natural desire regardless of endeavor. I never had monetary goals for this blog, all of my growth focus was and is followers. From there other things fall into place. For 2021 I want to expand my growth a lot more. I am missing my target for 2020, a year in which many people were home and online. I grew but I thought it would be much higher.

I know it takes years to grow a community and I am committed to it. However this can’t be a job for me, it has to be an outlet. That is my struggle as I look at my goals I fear the only way to reach my goals is to really go all in, I don’t know if I can do it but I am going to try.

Thank you so much for reading my semi rant/private thoughts. I appreciate your continued support of my blogging journey, take care.

Milestones! Thank you for supporting my blog!

2020 will probably be one of the worst years in our collective memories. For this blog though I’ve reached some great milestones this year and I wanted to take a minute and thank all of you for supporting my blog.

So what did we accomplish:

200 Subscribers

5000+ Visitors

17 likes in one day

Month over Month increases in views and visits

I know some of you have blogs with thousands of subscribers and these numbers are probably something you see every day. As a newer blogger these are big numbers for me and I think it’s important to celebrate the small things.

I really appreciate all of you who take your time to read my content. For those of you who share my content with others I can’t express to you how much your help is appreciated. I hope I continue to live up to your expectations with this blog and you continue to enjoy the content. As a reminder I post Mon-Wed-Fri and I cover mostly issues pertaining to Anxiety but anything is possible.

Again, thank you so much for all your support. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for supporting my blog

Sometimes it’s prudent to just give a thank you. 2020 has been a good year for my blog, more people have checked it out than ever before. I am growing, and while that was never my intent when I started its definitely nice to see and motivating. I started this blog mainly as a sounding board/place to put thoughts. I think that’s how a lot of people start, I mean there are professional bloggers who do it for money and that’s cool. I haven’t monetized this blog and I don’t have plans to in the near future. I think it would be super cool to be able to be a content creator even part time but thankfully I have a good job already.

I am happy with how the blog sits now, I am enjoying the content although currently it’s been hard to get away from Corona coverage. That said I have been diligent in trying to stay away from politics overall I think we will all be getting an ear full of that sooner rather than later. I’m finding more and more articles revolving around covid and anxiety and while that’s fine, Anxiety as an issue will be here long after Covid is gone.

I am still committed to doing anxiety pieces on the blog. You will see from time to time, posts on time, finance and other items that interest me but for now the main purpose of the blog is to put more information out there on anxiety related issues. The more we talk about it and get it out there the better for everyone IMHO.

I would likely be doing this if I had no support at all. I am getting support though, from people like you. Just you showing up and liking is great, it helps a lot. I am not as big as other blogs but I appreciate everyone who comes by so much, I can’t express enough how grateful I am that you are choosing to consume my content. I would be honored if you think my content is good enough, that you shared it with your networks and considered following my blog.

Thanks again for your support, I really appreciate it.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY BLOG!

2020 has started off hot for my blog and I am very excited about the numbers of people stopping by. If you are a regular you know I post Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I post mainly about Anxiety, Stress and Depression. I also delve into concepts of time and other musings (which is just a catch all). When I started this blog, I really didn’t have expectations for growth readers etc. Of course, I hoped to be successful, to have people want to read my content but it was never my intent to make this a commercial enterprise.

I write all the posts on this blog. Some blogs outsource writing and that’s fine. For me I prefer to create the pieces myself, good bad or ugly. I don’t have any intention of stopping the blog, but I think it’s important to be open to other avenues with writing. I am going to continue to produce pieces that are important to me, particularly about stress.

This blog is a safe place for anyone, I don’t care about your religion, sexuality, political position, or geography. I’m more interested in putting my thoughts into the world and interacting with people. You are welcome here, no matter where you are from.

Again, I realize this isn’t a huge blog but it’s my blog. Thank you for supporting me, and thank you for your views, likes and comments I truly appreciate it. It would be fantastic if you share my blog with your network, I would really appreciate it. if you have any suggestions for topics, you’d like me to cover or recommendations to improve the blog please leave a comment or email me any time.

Your Pagan Friend,

Thank you for supporting my blog!

So, September is now officially over. While I am a new blogger and my blog is very small compared to others month after month I keep getting more and more visitors. I think its important from time to time to step outside the normal posting routine and talk about the blog.

If you are a regular you know I post Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I post mainly about Anxiety, Stress and Depression. I also delve into concepts of time and other musings (which is just a catch all). When I started this blog I really didn’t have expectations for growth readers etc. Of course, I hoped to be successful, to have people want to read my content but it was never my intent to make this a commercial enterprise.

I write all the posts on this blog. Some blogs outsource writing and that’s fine. For me I prefer to create the pieces myself, good bad or ugly. I don’t have any intention of stopping the blog, but I think its important to be open to other avenues with writing. I am going to continue to produce pieces that are important to me, particularly about stress. That said I will be delving into other areas as well, but rest assured I will not be jumping into politics.

This blog is a safe place for anyone, I don’t care about your religion, sexuality, political position, or geography. I’m more interested in putting my thoughts into the world and interacting with people. You are welcome here, no matter where you are from. To be transparent I wanted to share with you the blog views and where they came from in Sept.

I am U.S. based so this doesn’t really surprise me. I wanted to be clear, the one person from Slovenia who stopped by is just as welcome as the 82 from the U.S.

Again, I realize this isn’t a huge blog but its my blog. Thank you for supporting me, and thank you for your views, likes and comments I truly appreciate it.

My 100th Blog post.

I never realized how rewarding and helpful posting my thoughts would be. I started this blog mainly because I needed a place to put things out into the world and get them off my mind. There comes a point in your life when you believe you have obtained wisdom. Further, you believe that sharing your wisdom may help others. What you don’t suspect is, that it’s really helping you.

I wanted to thank everyone who has followed me, viewed my content and supported my work with their views. I’ve learned a lot about myself and about many of you along the way. Anxiety, stress, depression and mental health are serious issues we don’t talk enough about. I am hopeful on my little corner of the web that people get some value from the content I post and feel better for having read it.

I do create other content, on my page you can find links to my You tube channel where I discuss politics and I post some of my gaming videos. I also use Minds.com where I post my blog posts here and my political videos. All of my content is free, you will never have to pay to view it. More importantly, my content is a safe space. Your gender, sexuality, race, political leanings are unique to you and I am a strident believer in liberty. I do not tolerate attacks on people, on my media sites.

I plan to continue posting Monday – Wednesday – Friday every week. I hope you enjoy the content. You are welcome to leave a comment or ask questions any time. I dont bite !

Thanks again for all your support, I truly appreciate it! onward to the next 100 posts!
